Risotto

Though Ireland is surrounded by water, people still don’t eat enough fish. Kinsale is famous for it’s seafood and it has a vibrant restaurant scene with so much choice when it comes to restaurants. You can get the best of fish served here in Kinsale and you will find it hard to find a menu in town that doesnt have some type of fish dish.

There is also a misconception that fish can be expensive to buy. But given all the benefits that fish has to offer and how fast and simple it can be to prepare, we can’t believe that people are not eating fish at home at least once or twice a week.

There is definately a little bit of fear when it comes to fish. People think it is difficult to cook and won’t be suitable for all the family etc. We are very excited about our next ‘Food from the Sea’ class which takes place on Sunday 25th Sept 2016 at 12 noon until 4pm.

This one day course will give any enthusiastic home cook the confidence needed to prepare amazing seafood dishes. We will cover how to fillet and cook different types of fish. We will be working with fresh fish from Kinsale waters including shellfish, round fish, flat fish and expose students to the pleasure of preparing sushi. Students will be shown how to make classic sauces, stocks and we will also give you pointers on how best to source and identify fresh fish.

You will then enjoy dinner with a glass of wine. The cost is €125 per person. In one day, you will be able to transform your cooking skill and start a new and healthy relationship with fish!
