David Rice is the Executive Chef at Ballinacurra House, Kinsale and the co-founder of the Kinsale Gourmet Academy. Before joining Ballinacurra House in 2013, David spent 2 years working as head tutor at Dublin’s premier cookery school, Cooks Academy. Prior to this, he worked as a senior chef at Dublin’s Michelin star restaurant Chapter One.
Kinsale was the birthplace of David’ s career which has spanned over 15 years and in a variety of prestigious kitchens including Roly’s Bistro in Ballsbridge, Gordon Ramsay’s Claridges, River Café and Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen in Cornwall.
David has won many accolades including Best Chef in Limerick at the Restaurant Association of Ireland awards 2010, while he was head chef at the Mustard Seed restaurant in Adare, Co. Limerick.
He has worked with many of Ireland’s top chefs and has done cookery demonstrations and pop-up restaurants with such chefs as Ross Lewis, Oliver Dunne, Stephen Gibson, Paul Flynn and Kevin Dundon. Most recently, David has given a variety of cookery demonstrations on RTE’s The Today Show.

He brings together his experience and passion for food with his keen interest in healthy and clean living to inspire people to cook simple, easy meals that are bursting with flavour.
